President
This is an elected position.
The President of Burnaby North’s Student Government chairs both general and
executive meetings. The President also drafts new event proposals and acts as
the student liaison with the administration.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s
Vice President
This is an elected position.
The Vice President is responsible for overseeing the logistical plans for
Student Government meetings and events. They assume the Presidential roles
should they be indisposed or unavailable. The Vice President chairs meetings for
the United Federation of Clubs.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s
Secretary
This is an elected position.
The Secretary creates agendas, records minutes, and distributes them among the
executives and administration for Student Government meetings. While managing
the schedule and contents, the Secretary acts to organize the efficient workflow
of the entire Student Government team.

Treasurer
This is an elected position.
The Treasurer manages all monetary elements by working directly with
administration to oversee the Student Government budget. The treasurer works in
close relations to Mrs. Goss, thus requiring an earnest determination to learn
and connect.

Public Relations Coordinator
This is an elected position.
The Public Relations Coordinators ensure the publicization of all events though
managing the Student Government social media accounts. They also liaison with
the External Relations Representative to maintain supplies for the Government
room.

Grad Chair
This is an appointed position.
The Grad Chair conducts all Grad council meetings in collaboration with the
Grade 12 Representatives. They plan and promote graduation events such as Winter
Gala, Prom, and Senior dress up weeks.

Other Reps
This is an appointed position.
While other positions listed under 'members-at-large' typically have a placement
in Student Government, we also offer positions that include but is not limited
to: Technology rep, Diversity rep, LGBTQIA+ rep, Arts rep, and Clubs rep.
Such positions promote intersectionality or provide technical support in Student
Government. As representatives of either clubs, techonolgy, or minority communities,
they bring new perspectives to the table and ensure collaboration and inclusivity
in the school, while also holding all the same duties as other Student Government
members.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 8s, 9s, 10s, 11s
Leadership Rep
This is an appointed position.
The Leadership Rep liaises between Student Government and Leadership and
Mentorship classes and works to promote collaboration between all school
programs. The Leadership Rep also mentors younger grades and new leaders
of Student Government.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s
Visual & Performing Arts Rep
This is an appointed position.
The Visual and Performing Arts Representative connects with the Visual and
Performing arts Department and works to
organize technological and artistic attributes such as lighting and sound for
events.

International Rep
This is an appointed position.
The International Representative presents Student Government events and
activities to the International Student meetings. They are responsible for
liaising with counsellors and teachers while also representing the International
student community.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s who are members of the international
student community
Vikings Athletic Council Rep
This is an appointed position.
The Vikings Athletic Council Representative works in relations to Ms. Oatway and
the Vikings Athletic Council to run and promote events including the Pep Rally
and Athletics Banquet. They are also in charge of leading the VAC Meetings.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s
Indigenous Relations Rep
This is an appointed position.
The Indigenous Representative is the liaison with both the Indigenous student
body and teachers. The Indigenous Relations Representative informs the Indigenous
community of Student Government events at their student meetings while also
representing their needs to Student Government and administration.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 9s, 10s, and 11s who may or may not be indigenous, but understand the importance of reconciliation and have an interest in indigenous relations
Grade 12 Rep
This is an elected position.
The Grade 12 Representatives run weekly meetings for the Grade 8 council
meetings. They work with the Grad Chair to plan fundraisers and events for
graduations while also providing support to the Grad Council by facilitating
meetings.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 11s
Grade 9-11 Reps
These are elected positions.
The Representatives of Grades 9 to 11 facilitate weekly meetings for their
respective Grade Council. The Grade 9-11 Representatives represent their grade
at Student Government meetings by advocating concerns or comments made by the
student body. They also prepare for their graduation year by planning and
organizing fundraisers.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 8s, 9s, and 10s
Members-at-Large
These are appointed positions.
Members-at-Large promote intersectionality in Student Government. As
representatives of either clubs or minority communities, they bring new
perspectives to the table and ensure collaboration and inclusivity in the
school, while also holding all the same duties as other Student Government
members.
Eligible Applicants: Current Grade 8s, 9s, 10s, and 11s
